The truth of the matter is that I love books..mysteries, The Bible, diet books, health books, and I love food. Because our family was in the grocery business I was exposed to a lot of food. Because I have been a large girl all my life I used The Adkin's Diet for years to maintain but occasionally I would prepare
When Carl was diagnosed with acid reflux and told he would need to be on some high powered meds---for the remainder of his life, we told the Lord that was NOT the way we wanted to go and then we humbly asked for wisdom. Within days I discovered Great Taste No Pain and purchased the two books and changed our lives. Carl has not taken the meds nor has he suffered from acid reflux, unless he forgets and eats the wrong combination...he doesn't forget very often.
I tried fresh tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, onions, fresh basil and oregano, which I grow in the flowerbeds and a new product for us, Quorn, which is a fungi translated mushrooms, and it has no soy.
And instead of pasta I used spagetti squash. A dash of parmesan on top..with Chibatta garlic toast. Delish!
My dieting life began when I was a teenager and I didn't eat potatoes for years...now we have potatoes often with our veggies, with the Quorn now we can have a taco potato like Denice prepared at her restaurant and tacos I really miss tacos. One of the things that this plan explains is why you have difficult digestion when you eat protein with starches. It has made preparing food easier...protein with veggies or starches with veggies.....simple.
When I was a girl I can remember my Mother complaining about preparing the same food over and over she wanted to have something different and she did get creative. Carl says he can eat the same thing every day and it would be alright and he means that every week have a certain food. Sunday- chicken, Monday-Mexican, Tuesday-Greek salad, Wednsday-Avocado sandwich, so you get the picture.+
