Flexitarian-Who Knew?


The Flexitarian Diet: The Mostly Vegetarian Way to Lose Weight, Be Healthier, Prevent Disease, and Add Years to Your Life   In the past year I have purchased so many diet books and most of them have been vegetarian diets, which, for me, The Butcher's Daughter, was an impossibility.  My father ate meat at every meal of his adult life, ditto for his family.  The diets were fascinating to me but my head kept saying, "eat meat for protein" because I  stayed on  Dr. Adkins Diets, on which I lost 55 lbs, the first time I tried it. Reading this new book I discovered that I was doing everything but just needed to tweak my food choices daily.  So all the books that I purchased are going to come in handy as a explore the plant based diet more and more. 

Most of my life I have felt fat, so I have stayed on some kind of limiting diet, but the only one who has lost weight is my precious husband.  He is healthy now, as far as we know and he is not suffering from the acid reflux that he had diagnosed earlier this year.  Adding more plant foods to our diets has been interesting because legumes can be used so many ways and greens should be included every day.  So here we go and hopefully we will see an improvement in our lives.

Tonight we are having roast beef, cabbage and carrots.....keep smiling.+
